These DC Restaurants, Chefs Were Named James Beard Award Semifinalists

Several Washington DC chefs and restaurants have made it to the semifinals of the 2023 James Beard Awards.

The foundation will announce the winners on Monday, June 5, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. 

Outstanding Restaurateur

  • Michael Reginbogin and Jason Berry of KNEAD Hospitality + Design. The company operates several restaurants in the area, including MI VIDA, Lil’ SUCCOTASH, and GATSBY.

  • Rob Rubba, Oyster Oyster

The James Beard Foundation’s Restaurant and Chef Awards was established in 1990 and first awarded in 1991. They are one of five separate recognition programs of the Awards.
